Hystore at the EuroSun 2026 conference

EuroSun2026 – the ISES and IEA SHC International Conference for Sustainable and Solar Energy for Buildings and Industry is a well-established and highly successful conference for the solar community that this year reaches its 30th year.
The Hystore project will be present at this prestigious event in the session:
“Thermal Energy Storage I”
15 September 2026, 15:00 – 16:30 | Room 1098
The presentation showcases the work done by AIT on a systematic mapping and characterisation of the TES database landscape through a taxonomy structured by data-generation pathway and level of abstraction.
Based on a survey of 30 DBs that are, to the best of the authors’ knowledge, among the most relevant and widely used in research projects, AIT analysed differences in scope, methodology, data types, provenance representation, and quality assurance, while also identifying recurring trends and coverage gaps across the TES database ecosystem.
The results highlight the need for more harmonised approaches to data generation, reporting, quality assurance, and interoperability.
To demonstrate the practical application of the taxonomy, AIT developed, within the HYSTORE project, the database
